    I fell in love with Portugal while sitting on a balcony overlooking Rossio Square on a warm, breezy September night in 2017 with a glass of wine in hand. The murmur of the night streets, the sound of live Fado music rising like a whisper up in the air, and the quiet facade of the Castelo de São Jorge protecting the city captured my imagination.

    I think the best way to travel is to find the back roads less taken by the average traveler, to visit the neighborhoods off the tourist paths, experience local cuisines and customs and immerse yourself in your surroundings - it’s about getting out of your comfort zone and getting a little uncomfortable in a good way.

    I adore travel that goes beyond ticking boxes on a list. Wherever I go, I always try to learn a few phrases of the language, wander down the streets that other tourists don't bother to explore and observe where the locals go. Those little authentic moments always create memories that linger long after returning home.

    My journeys led me to finding my home on Portugal's Silver Coast. My love for authentic travel, exceptional food, culture and a little bit of luxury, planted the seed for RuaMar Experiences Company.

    I hope to connect adventurous travelers with the history, art, food, and heart of Portugal that I fall in love with & rediscover each day.

At RuaMar, our journey began with a dream—to live on a sea road (rua mar) surrounded by the natural beauty of Portugal. We took the leap from the bustling streets of New York City to the serene Silver Coast, choosing a path less traveled to immerse ourselves in the language and culture of this enchanting country. But our adventure didn’t stop there.

As serial entrepreneurs, we are committed to not only living in Portugal but also contributing to the vibrant community we now call home. We wanted to create a way for travelers to connect with Portugal on a deeper level, beyond the typical tourist attractions. That's why we founded RuaMar: to offer curated travel and foodie experiences that showcase a rich tapestry of traditions, festivals, and culinary delights.
